Why we designed the BUMPaLOOP
Share
The first item ever made was for my son to help his transition from baby carrier to pushchair in 2008. Being in the pushchair was a whole new experience and he loved to grab the bumper bar to try and get a better view of the world. Sometimes this meant he would get the bar a bit grubby if he was eating snacks, so that needed a rub down daily.
One of his favourite items was his taggy blanket, and if we took this on a walk then it would inevitably end up on the floor. After many attempts at attaching the taggy blanket to the bar, one day I came up with the idea of combining the taggy blanket with a protective cover for his bar. And so the BUMPaLOOP was born. I shared them with friends and family before putting them on to the wider market.
The BUMPaLOOP sensory bumper bar cover was designed not only to interest and entertain your little ones but also to act as a sensory development aid. With numerous colours and textures the BUMPaLOOP quenches your child’s thirst to learn about their growing world by reaching out and touching.
We have combined a whole range of bright colours and patterns as well as different textures. The bright colours captivate the younger baby, whilst the textures reward the older baby. And for the growing toddler every journey can be an excuse to learn the name of a colour, pattern or picture. A great conversation for the journey! And when that has been well rehearsed why not try to match the colour or picture around you whilst on your travels.
These have evolved in design since then as I love being creative with colours and patterns.
I have also created the PLAIN JAINE protective cover that is free of ribbons and later the BUMPaLOOP MiNi sensory cover for developing babies, to help captivate during their time in them - either on the pushchair frame or for a car journey.
